RENACCI REACTS TO SCOTT BROWN’S VICTORY

 
Wadsworth—On the heels of Republican Scott Brown’s monumental victory in the Massachusetts special election, Jim Renacci, Republican candidate for Congress in Ohio’s 16th District, released the following statement.
 
“Reminiscent of their actions during the dawn of our nation, last night the people of Massachusetts once again ignited a revolution against the ills of bad government. Together, Republicans, Independents and Democrats alike, sent a thunderous message to our leaders in Washington that the American people demand far better than the failed policies of the Obama-Pelosi agenda.  Scott Brown’s historic victory in deep blue Massachusetts serves as a clear renunciation of the reckless spending, higher taxes and massive expansion of government that has defined the past 12 months,” Renacci said.
 
“Here in Ohio, the residents of the 16th district are currently represented by a Congressman who has marched in lock-step with Washington’s dismantling of America’s economy.  John Boccieri, who has voted with Nancy Pelosi 94% of the time, has added fuel to the fire that is burning up our national treasury and is killing jobs across our district. His votes in support of doubling the national debt, the job killing Cap & Trade bill, and a steady stream of wasteful government spending projects, have demonstrated just how out of touch he his with the concerns and values of this district.  Since assuming office, John Boccieri has served as a reliable voice for the Pelosi agenda and the special interests that line his campaign coffers, but he has been a disaster for his constituents here in Ohio.  It is time that we restore responsibility to government and return this seat back to the people of the 16th district, and in Congress, that’s precisely what I am going to do.”
