At a time when the American people and small businesses have had to tighten their belts and rein in spending, John Boccieri has marched in lock-step with Nancy Pelosi and Barack Obama as together they have taken the federal government on the largest and most reckless spending spree in American history. Seemingly unconcerned with the rapidly escalating amount of debt that he is piling on future generations of American, John Boccieri has voted time and again for trillions of dollars in new deficit spending to fund a massive expansion of government, endless Wall Street bailouts and the federal takeover of numerous private sector industry.
  • In 2009, John Boccieri voted for a $3.5 trillion budget that tripled the previous record high national deficit and would double the national debt in the next five years. This budget was labeled as “the most fiscally irresponsible budget in the history of the federal government”.
  • During his first two months in office, John Boccieri voted to spend a billion dollars an hour, every hour for 50 straight days.
  • After voting for the most reckless and debt-laden budget in history n 2009, John Boccieri and his fellow Democrats failed to pass a budget at all in 2010—the first time in the history of the Budget Act that the House Majority failed to pass a budget.
  • Boccieri voted for a trillion dollar “stimulus” package in 2009, a bill that was promised to create jobs and keep unemployment under 8%. Shortly after its passage, unemployment skyrocketed above 10% and to date the U.S. economy as lost 3.42 million jobs since the bill was signed into law.
  • Despite the fact that a majority of his own constituents opposed the bill and that it would increase health care costs, Boccieri flip-flopped on ObamaCare, casting a deciding vote to pass the trillion -dollar government overhaul of health care.
In June 2010, Boccieri voted in favor of H.R. 4173, a bill that created the funding authority for permanent AIG-style, taxpayer funded bailouts.
